MAHJABEEN KABIR
Butterfly

Thread, Cotton

ARTIST STATEMENT

The delight I get when I spot a butterfly fluttering from flower to flower on a bright summer's day is what inspired me to create this piece. I wanted to frame a special moment in nature with all it’s colours and textures and used needle painting techniques to bring it to life. Picking up embroidery has taught me to be more patient in creating art. It’s become another medium I have enjoyed exploring with my hands.
